Special
thanks to John Furniss for coming to our rescue when the Lifetouch
photographer let us down with not so good photography.
John was constantly taking pictures of our classmates, in high school
and then at the Reunion. At least 90% of these photos were taken by
John. Great job John! |
| Reunion
comments from our class!
We are sure
by now you have received numerous emails about last night's reunion.
We just wanted to add our thank you to you and the committee for
an excellent job!! Truly, at first I was hesitant if not doubtful
that we would be going. But we are truly glad we did. Our most heartfelt
thanks again to you and to the other committee members. Merrit
& Priscilla Herr-Neckar
First of all, thank you so much for caring and continuing to do
so much work for this class. We had such a great time at the reunion
and met up with friends we haven't seen in 25 years and wouldn't
you know it - they live 40 minutes away! We have already gotten
our families together. Thanks, Jeanne Jordan Noble
Thank You!!! Our reunion was a wonderful event. The hours went by
way too fast. It was great getting to talk to old friends and seeing
everyone who could make it. You and the Reunion Committee did us
all proud. I wanted to come over and give you a big hug but did
not want to interrupt others already talking with you. I blinked
and it was after 12:30...time flies when you are with special people!!
Thanks again. Wishing you all the best. Bob Hoopes
Just a quick note to tell you what a great job you did for the Reunion.
The food was great, entertainment great, and a very meaningful slide
show presentation. I know you spent many hours and just wanted you
to know it was appreciated by many. Faith Hayes Casciano
Aloha Deb! Sounds like quite the gathering. I am very glad for all.
I want to thank you for creating the reunion and bringing so many
together. My thoughts and prayers be with you. Pumehana aloha, Tom
Willa
I wouldn't feel right if I didn't take a little time to tell you
what a terrific job you did with the reunion. Everything was so
well done; obviously a huge amount of work and thought went into
it. Having the band instead of a DJ really set it apart from other
events I have gone to. Did not have to waste time trying to talk
the DJ into playing something other than "Celebrate",
or whatever it's called! The piece of writing that appeared on the
screen at the beginning of the slide show was very good-the author
did not take credit for it, but whoever it is can write. High school
is such a strange time in so many ways; it was good to see that
we all have so much more in common now than we realized then. I
know we've all been through a lot that we never planned on; saving
grace of life is you can't see what's coming! Anyway, thanks again,
you have my admiration. Ellen Tryens Battan
Thanks for all of your hard work in putting this super successful
reunion together. It definitely was over the top and the best reunion
I've attended. You guys really put a lot time into it and it showed.
I'm glad you gave me the extra push to come on short notice. It
was great to see you and the gang once again. Jeff Chandler
THANK YOU and all your committee for all the hard work you did to
put together a terrific reunion for everyone. It was really a lot
of fun and the only thing I would have liked is a bit more time-
but that is a good thing. I have great memories of high school and
also of the feeling of the time- a feeling I sometimes wish our
kids had- trite, but, "Peace Love and Happiness" all around
would go a long way today in making for better, happier high schools...and
world. We may have been a pain to the administration, but I think
we had a lot more acceptance and tolerance for each other than kids
today have. We were blessed to go to school when we did. So much
for proselytizing! Thanks again for your hard work. Fondly, Deb
Orselet Marsteller
Just wanted to thank you again for all the effort you and the reunion
committee put forth to enable the evening to happen last Saturday.
It was good to see so many faces from the past and do a little catching
up and a little reminiscing. Again, THANK YOU! All of your efforts
culminated in a very special evening that will be long remembered.
Regards, Skip Williamson
Congratulations to you and the reunion committee for an extremely
awesome job of making our reunion a spectacular event and to you
in particular. You should be extremely proud of yourself for leading
the reunion team and the personal sacrifices that you made that
caused you so much stress, especially coming down the home stretch.
I hope that you feel that the evening and your hard work was worth
it. Many of our classmates that I had a chance to talk to, also
commented that they thought you did a great job. I personally what
to thank you from the bottom of my heart, for inspiring me to find
the strength and courage to attend. It was great to see so many
people that I haven't seen for so many years. It was sort of heartwarming
to see how many people remembered me as a person and not as an image,
"imagine" that. I'm sorry that I didn't get a chance to
see you to thank in person but you were quite busy all night and
I needed to call it a night just prior to the group picture being
taken. So thank you again to you and the committee for a job well
done. Missy Brees
Deb, I wanted to speak w/u at the reunion but there always seemed
to be a throng of people around you. I thought you and all the other
classmates involved did a great job with the entire affair. Kudos
all around! Best wishes for the upcoming New Year and God willing
we'll all see each other at the next event. Again, Thanks for all
of your hard work on everyone’s behalf. John Motsko
Wow Deb, yes the reunion was great! Thanks so much for all the incredible
human effort you expended for it to be so great. It was such fun
to see so many friends. Barb Rock Demos
Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know what a terrific job
you & the rest of the group did on organizing the Reunion. What
a great turnout! I know people who had their reunions from Springfield,
O'Hara & Coatesville and they barely had 50 people show up.
I had a lot of fun - it was nice seeing everyone again Thanks again,
Lisa McTear Westervelt
Although I didn't attend the reunion, I again want to tell you and
your crew thanks for the great work you did in putting all of that
together. I expect it was a handful and your efforts are appreciated
in maintaining a sense of continuity for our class, especially after
all of these years. Take care and best wishes, Doug Williamson
Hope you have recovered from the most wonderful party. I will carry
the memories with me for a long time to come. Fortunately, my hubby
followed me around and took lots of pictures. This was not just
a high school reunion. It was a virtual back to the future. What
a pleasure it was to see my girlfriends from my childhood neighborhood!
Lisa M. and Susie H. and I rode tricycles together on Leticia Lane.
And to see the power girls from junior high... not to mention the
boys... The list goes on. Thanks so much. All the best, Stina
Anderson Hatami
I meant to thank-you personally at the reunion for all your hard
work, but was not able to speak to you. Thanks alot for organizing
everything. It was a great success and excellent turnout. Regards,
Dave Gridley
I've been meaning to e-mail you about how wonderful the reunion
was. And you are quite a whiz in that wheelchair! You look the same,
Deb, and everything went just great. I hope to keep in touch with
people via e-mail, once the website is up and running. The PowerPoint
presentation was just great, as was the band. Thanks for all your
efforts and those of the committee. Susan Yannes Mandel
THANK YOU VERY MUCH for all of your hard work and dedication towards
making the reunion such a success. I enjoyed it very much. Take
care, Al (Starnes) Richardson
Thanks so much for all of your efforts to gather all together, it
was great fun!! It was so good to see so many show up for the reunion.
It was wonderful seeing everyone and catching up on their lives.
Thank you again for all you did. Jackie Fleenor Olson
I had a great time and I wanted to thank you and the others involved
in organizing the reunion for doing such a good job. Thanks again,
John Stauffer
Oh, I cannot begin to tell you what a great, wonderful, happy time
I had at the reunion!! I cried all the way home because I didn't
want it to be over. Then when I read your email about having the
website up and running soon, I was simply elated. You looked so
beautiful!! I felt like I held my own once I got into the place.
I saw so many people who remembered me! I don't remember being so
popular, so many people knowing me so well. It's funny how your
own perceptions don't always match up with those you went to school
with...Thank you, Deb, especially you, for all of your dedication
and hard work at putting the reunion together. I am amazed at all
you and the committee must have had to do to accomplish such a great
affair! I would like to be on the committee for the 40th if I could.
I don't exactly know how I could be used, but we can discuss it.
Thank you for all of your efforts and for helping to make our reunion
such a wonderful affair. Who would have "Imagined" it
would have been so grand? ~ Marilyn Saunders Hendershot
Thank you for the push you gave me to attend the reunion. My only
regrets are that I did not go to any other reunions and that my
wife was having one of the worst days with MS for many years...she
usually is so healthy that most folks do not believe she has MS.
I had to leave earlier than I wanted to!! Thanks again...it was
very odd in a good way to see all those folks...I just never see
anyone from Penncrest ever...the few people that I have continued
to have a relationship with have either moved far-far away or have
disappeared altogether. I am very pleased to have gotten to know
you Deb...I really do not remember ever speaking to you while we
were in school. I pray that you will have a Merry Christmas with
your friends and family. I also pray that if you have not already
done so...you will find that Joy and Relationship that our class
"pastor" ..."Rocky" spoke of in the moment you
folks gave him... I looked in my year book this week and saw that
he signed my year book...Rocky...I do not remember asking him to
sign it... Truly Deb...May God bless you and be real to you this
very day! Respectfully, Doug Rummel
I really meant to write to you sooner, but have been caught up in
the holiday thing. I enjoyed every minute of the reunion and really
appreciate all the time and effort you and the committee put into
it. You did an amazing job. I look forward to the next reunion!
Thanks for everything! Joanne Huey Geis
It was great to see you again Deb! You look fantastic. Everyone
I talked to said you were the key in putting the reunion together.
Thanks. It was a little scary letting my wife, Carla talk to my
old friends! She had a great time too. Cheers, Bobby Dowd
Just wanted to say thank you for fitting my husband and myself in
at the last minute. We had a great time! It was fun seeing everyone
at this point in our lives. Good job on your organizing efforts
Deb!! Joanne Hehn Cunningham
Everything turned out great. You did an unbelievable job. Barry
Van Leer
Deb, you looked fabulous last night. Everyone I talked to was having
a wonderful time and really enjoyed the evening. Not having a 30
yr. made this reunion all the more special and you and the committee
deserve ALL the kudos. Thank you for all your efforts for making
it such a wonderful evening. Anne Potter-Miles
Please thank everybody for me who helped set up the reunion. I can't
believe that 5 hours went by so fast. I simply could not meet everybody
I wanted to. I wanted to see you personally at the reunion, but
I couldn't get to you. I took some video at the event. I doubt it
will be of great quality due to the low light. But if anything comes
out half decent upon review, I will forward you a DVD copy. I still
am using the old Hi-8 format. Once again - Thanks. By the way -
you looked great. Steven Berlin
I'm just getting back to you! Oh yes, it was a night to remember!!
I have been so so out of touch with everyone. I reconnected in a
most wonderful way with people dear and it makes this next half
a century (!) so much richer, taking them with me! Thanks for all
you did to personalize everything about the reunion. You have an
awesome spirit and love for people and life. It just radiates out
of you and is definitely contagious. I heard you called just about
everyone! (I was an easy catch. I think I signed up and sent my
money in return mail practically!) Truly, though, I believe somehow
in a mystical/spiritual way you set the tone for that evening, or
at least were the spark to peel away the years and take us back
there where we left off. We don't mess around with the trite and
superficial, but relate to each other with alot of "heart and
soul." It was happening all over that room. Every day is precious
and every friend we've made, and life we've impacted along the way,
is part of a fragrant bouquet. Your words that evening, the pictures,
the music . . . made me smile and appreciate my roots and remember
being part of such a unique group, as I believe we were ~ the Class
of '71!!!! Thanks to you and the committee for all the hours and
hassles of pulling it off. May God bless you, too, during this special
holiday time and draw you into His Peace. I believe in healing and
I believe in prayer. . . . He's got your life in His hands, Deb,
and I think you know it. As you have blessed so many, so too He
will bless you. If you ever want to connect, I'd love to . . . You've
been in my prayers ever since Wilbur brought me up to date. So many
I've known with MS. What a scourge! I say, leave no stone unturned.
Pray for healing and a deeper knowledge of Him as you journey. Hugs
to you, beautiful woman! Lee Eggert Vergason
I thought I’d drop you a note to let you know how much Bill
and I enjoyed the reunion! You and the others involved did a wonderful
job! The last reunion I attended was the 5 year and that was so
long ago. I did periodically run into Alice P., who let me know
just how much I was missing and finally joined Classmates to hopefully
re-establish some links. I wish we could have stayed till the end,
I missed out on talking to a lot of people, but Bill has serious
back issues and we had to leave early. Thanks again for all you
did, and I can't wait till the 40 year reunion. Sue Hughes
Schroeder
You did a great job on Saturday night for our 35th Penncrest Reunion!!
Thanks so much for all the effort that you and your group worked
on in putting this thing together. I took Sunday to recuperate;
hopefully you are doing okay today! Sandy Bubri Szilagyi
I really wish I could have been at the Reunion; however work had
to come first. This Web Site sounds awesome and if you need some
help with it please let me know. Glad everyone had a great time.
Paul Price
I did have a great time. Susan thanked me for making her go. You
are to be congratulated for such a wonderful event. I'm sure you've
heard that from many people. It really was great to see everyone.
Peggy Schiff Hill
Congratulations Deb! What a great job you did! I looked around &
saw everybody having soo much fun! Me too! I'm really glad I decided
to come. Hope you'll take some much needed & deserved time off
to recoup! Will Wamsley
Yes the Reunion was wonderful!!! You and the committee did an awesome
job! Every detail taken care of!! You looked fabulous! You are a
true example of determination!! Blessings, Paula Weaver Levens
Thanks Deb! We were SO sad to miss this! Glad to know it was such
a success. Mark Camp
It sounds like Mark and I missed a great party. I came down with
the flu on Thursday and there was just no way could I travel to
Pa. without a bathroom nearby- I guess we could have rented a motor
home but somehow that never occurred to me while I was sick. Of
course by Saturday evening I was feeling good enough to just feel
rotten over missing the reunion. I can't wait for the web site to
come on - thanks for all the committee did and we'll be there for
the 40th! Kate Peirce Camp
Just want to say thank you for all your hard work in planning the
reunion. It was a very good time!! Susan Travia Childs
Deb.......though far away I have heard...on the winds....that you
are still beautiful and vibrant....and "raging against the
storm" as you cope with MS. This inspires me. You quite simply
rock. I regret that I could not attend the reunion. I was there
in spirit and heard from a number of those in attendance that it
was a wonderful event. But more than anything I only wish to write
and wish you well. In fond remembrance and with my best wishes,
John Tease
